On July 24, the company donated 1 million yuan in funds and 1,000 sets of camouflage uniforms to the Henan Charity Federation for flood fighting and disaster relief.
"After learning that Zhengzhou and other areas in Henan had been hit by rare heavy rainstorms, we have been closely following the disaster situation. We got in touch with the Henan Charity Federation a couple of days ago and first donated 1 million yuan. We have also completed the procurement and transportation of camouflage uniforms over the past few days," said Xing Zhiqiang, Director of the President’s Office of the company. "When disaster strikes, help comes from all sides" is a fine tradition of our country, and rushing to support Henan is what we ought to do for individuals, for the enterprise and for society.
In recent years, while developing its business, Jiahe Food has actively participated in various charitable and public welfare activities, repaying society with sincerity. During disasters such as the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and the 2010 drought in southwest China, the company generously donated funds and supplies to the affected areas. Since 2010, Jiahe Food has made annual donations to the district charity federation for local poverty alleviation and assistance programs.
"In 2020, at the critical moment when the whole nation was united in fighting the epidemic, our company actively joined the battle against COVID-19. We successively delivered supplies to police stations, communities, the administrative examination and approval bureau, the housing and urban-rural development bureau, and various traffic checkpoints to support frontline epidemic prevention staff," said Wang Xin, Administrative Director of Jiahe Food. Meanwhile, the company immediately raised and purchased medical supplies worth over 200,000 yuan, including disposable medical masks and KF94 masks, for targeted donation to medical institutions. This eased the shortage of local medical supplies and better protected the lives and health of frontline medical workers.
After the epidemic was eased, the company also made loving donations to the Yichang Charity Federation through the China Association of Bakery and Confectionery Industry. In local poverty alleviation work, the enterprise learned that farmers in Wannan Village, Hengshan Subdistrict, Wujiang District, had suffered from serious unsold sales of Cuiguan pears due to the COVID-19 pandemic and an extraordinarily long Meiyu season. After learning about this situation, Jiahe Food contacted relevant staff in Wannan Village and purchased nearly 2,000 jin of Cuiguan pears for summer employee benefits, fulfilling its original aspiration and social responsibility through these practical and detailed actions.
